New Transit and Visitor Center opens at First and Pine
LONG BEACH - After a 20-year struggle by Long Beach Transit to construct a new Transit and Visitor Center, Monday's grand opening ceremony marked long-awaited success. Moving the center to the corner of First Street and Pine Avenue was met with opposition for 20 years, mostly from a lack of desire to offer public restrooms, said LBT President Larry Jackson.
