In these hard times of job losses, the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) hopes it has come up with a real-world curriculum that might better prepare students for careers. If current plans are realized, in the next five years, the new ECATS (Early College Academic Technical School) High School will occupy the site of the existing DeMille Middle School on Parkcrest Street, just east of Studebaker Road, adjacent to the San Gabriel River channel.
