Stimulus Grant Helps Eliminate Trash
A $10 million economic stimulus grant will go a long way toward doing what att-empted stiff water quality regulations failed to accomplish — get cities upstream to catch trash and pollutants before they get to the Los Angeles River. The award, from the American Recovery and Re-investment Act through the state Water Board, is designated for installation of catch basins on storm drains in 16 cities.
