
Long Beach. More than 100 new trees will be planted downtown Saturday in an event co-sponsored by the Downtown Long Beach Associates, the Redevelopment Agency and Council members Suja Lowenthal and Robert Garcia. These trees are in addition to the 15 recently planted along Pacific Avenue. The community tree-planting begins with volunteer check-in at 8:30 a.m. on the Promenade north of Broadway.
