City Receives $4.7 Million To Improve Water Quality In Area
Projects to improve the water quality of the Los Angeles River and Colorado Lagoon will proceed this year in the city of Long Beach with the use of stimulus money awarded from the State Water Resources Control Board. William Rukeyser, spokesman for the State Water Board, said approximately $1.5 million in grants was awarded to the city for trash nets, a trash separation device and a vortex separation system (VSS) unit for removing debris from the Los Angeles River.
