Cleanup puts wetlands deal on hold for now
The escrow on the land-swap deal involving a portion of Los Cerritos Wetlands has been placed in a temporary holding pattern until the EPA rules it's satisfied with a cleanup effort of contaminants, City Hall sources said Tuesday. City Manager Pat West made that decision last week, following the advice of Public Works Director Mike Conway, the initial chief negotiator of the controversial deal.
